Do you buy Glenisk yogurt? If so, there’s a chance you’ve looked at the notice from Self Help Africa on the back.
Self Help Africa have decided that, working with Glenisk yogurt, they are going to plant 100, 000 native trees here in Ireland, and for every tree planted here 10 will planted in Africa- a total of over 1, 100, 000 trees.
That’s a wonderful goal, so we are proud to announce that we are collaborating with Self Help Africa to help them do this.
Everyone can help by donating or finding out more about how important this is to the climate, nature and the African people.
The trees planted here in Ireland will help increase biodiversity, reduce floods and decrease the carbon dioxide causing climate change. In Africa they will do all those things, as well as providing shade, fruit and materials for the smallholders there.
All the trees planted will be native and helpful to local communities.
We all know how important trees are to nature, people and climate of Ireland. Let’s do our bit to support that in Africa as well.
Self Help Africa also has a programme for primary schools – every class can receive a lesson plan on trees and a sapling to plant. If you are a teacher or student who is interested, contact Self Help Africa at:
