We are a group of children who have been witnessing the deliberate destruction of trees around our homes, and reading reports of trees being felled all over Ireland.
Trees are living beings that have the right to live peacefully on this earth as we do. As full trees or in the hedgerow, they support so much wildlife, providing a safe haven for the biodiversity we need to protect, and which can help our climate crisis.
Trees provide shade, keep our grazing animals safe, reduce flooding, hold and make topsoil. In villages, towns and cities they can help our mental and physical wellbeing, reduce noise pollution, and even help slow down traffic.
We are the younger generation and we want to protect our future’s trees. So we have formed the Children’s Tree Campaign.
Our aims are to work with as many people and groups as possible to
- Plant
- Protect
- & Promote
trees, hedgerows and woodlands locally and all over Ireland, to secure the future of our trees and the nature they support. We want to encourage other children to do the same.
So please have a look at our projects, read our blog pages, get in touch and help Ireland’s trees.
